Ramping Up

I know I have been running slow and piddly runs, but I am already looking forward to Saturday when I am going to attempt a (relatively) long run...I decided to run 3.6 miles today in the park. It felt good, my legs are feeling stronger already, and my cardio is returning, albeit at a glacial pace. Onward and upward...

7 Days On, 1 Day Off

I've run the past 7 days straight, time for a one day reprieve. Back to it Thursday...

First Week

Being that it is Monday and I track my training miles from Monday-Sunday, this is the first full week back to training. I ran a total of 8.4 miles last week, so this week I want to hit at least 15, and so on and so forth. Today's run was an easy 3 miler in the park.

Easy

Still taking it easy, ran a slow 2.4 miles today just to keep on keeping on...

On the Right Foot

Like millions of Americans, I stepped out my door to go on a run today, on New Year's Day. But for me this is no resolution, it's just back to training. I'm still taking it easy (doctors orders), so I ran an easy 1.5 mile run, then played in the snow with my son!

That's A Wrap

Well, my running year is nearing its end as I prepare for my last race of the year, a midnight run to celebrate New Year's Eve in Central Park. Here is to closing out a great, successful year of running, and to getting back on it...tomorrow! Happy New Year!

A Quick Jaunt

The park is still covered in ice and snow, so a quick 1.5 mile jaunt in the park was the order of the day...

Run/Walk

Just a 2 mile R/W for today on icy and snowy paths through Central Park (5 days after 22 inches of snow dumped in NYC)...

On The Road Again...

Well, I didn't expect to take this much time off after the marathon. I had anticipated taking about a week, maybe two, off to rest and re cooperate. You never know what life is going to throw your way...in my case, my doctor found a (thankfully innocuous) blood clot that prevented me from running for about 4 weeks. But I am on the mend and able to slowly start back some light running. I have been told to take it extremely easy, but I couldn't resist my first opportunity in weeks to get back out on the roads. I ran a very easy 3 miles today around the park. It felt amazing to get my feet back under me. I still plan to run sparingly, but at least it is a start.
